How To Apply Honest Amish Beard Wax

Beard Application and Tips

The best application for any beard product is on a clean, damp to wet beard(depending on the beard whether damp or wet). Take a small amount(pea size) of the balm to start in the palm of your hand and rub your palms together until it melts the spread through with fingers. At this point your beard should still be damp and the oils will spread most evenly. You can rub the excess in to your skin. Also, you can if you want run a brush through either before or after application. We do not recommend over brushing your beard, this leads to broken hairs and split ends.

The wax can be used daily as well, unlike the balm though it should be applied to the tips of your beard and worked down the beard shaft. Use the back of your fingernail to scrape out a small amount and then rub it between the tips of your fingers, it will become viscous and at this point start at the tips and work your way in.Some folks use them together, personally however I have not found this to be advantageous. For days when I need a tighter cleaner look, I use only the wax. Other days I usually use the balm alone for my normal routine. But like I said, some like combining them.

Also it is not necessary to wash your beard daily, as a general rule. If you work in an office, clean environment, putting a soap or shampoo to your beard daily is not entirely needed. Every other day with a mild shampoo or natural soap(not a store bought soap like Ivory, Irish Spring, Dial, etc. which will dry and leave a film). Store bought soaps as mentioned are actually detergent bars, any of the natural occurring glycerin has been removed to sell to the cosmetic industry and what you are left with is a hard, harsh, non-conditioning bar of detergent and fragrance. Shampoos are normally targeted for the scalp and your face's pores are much different leading them to dry over time, same goes for a hair conditioner(not made to be put on your face). We offer a full line of natural cold process soaps that are made from only saponified organic oils, no synthetic preservatives or fragrances. All of our soaps
are gentle and conditioning and made from premium organic oils.

Try not to run your fingers through your beard all day, we know the urge, but it'd be like sticking them in your mouth all day, dirty, greasy...not good for the beard. Most important rule though for application is remembering a clean, damp/wet beard.

Natural separation of product: Occasionally natural separation of the product happens over time, usually expedited when exposed to fluctuations in temperature. Your balm will continue to work as normal, that said however, you can get it back to normal consistency by placing it in an area where it will melt(window ledge in direct sun, a car, etc.) Once the product melts fully, making sure the lid is sealed tightly, shaking it to mix the oils and butters, then you can allow it to cool at room temperature over the next several hours(sometimes shaking at intervals, to keep it mixed, and to test if it's solidifying). You can also expedite the solidification by placing in a fridge.
